Volunteer Program

Volunteering At TWS

Our volunteers represent Tahoe Women's Services; therefore we feel that it is important to empower volunteers with a better understanding of the issues surrounding domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Our hope is that our volunteers will benefit as much from their experience here at TWS as our clients benefit from volunteers.

Because of our sensitivity to client safety and confidentiality, volunteering in direct service positions with survivors, children or representing Tahoe Women's Services in the community requires a commitment to the organization which begins with an interview with the Volunteer & Event Coordinator, a 68 hour volunteer training (Crisis Intervention Training (CIT)), and a criminal background check if working with children. There are various other non-direct volunteer positions that require less commitment.
